THE AREA
There are different opinions on what the "real" Tuscany is. Having travelled across Tuscany, some of our favourite areas are the province of Lucca, Montecatini Terme and Vinci. The villages are all beautiful and rich in history and character. Surrounded by mountains and hills, they have picturesque Sunday markets where you can sample some of the best charcuterie and cheeses, as well as traditional Tuscan shops and authentic Italian restaurants.
Your traditional Tuscan house will be close to a village, giving easy access to a range of amenities. We always try to ensure that you can at least cycle down to town - but preferably walk the distance.
Additionally, we never find homes that are more than an hour from the airport.
For example, we have previously purchased homes in Montecastello, Buggiano and San Baronto - three lovely small towns close to amenities, airports and trips to Florence, Forte dei Marmi or Siena.
CLIMATE
Tuscany is famous for its pleasant climate, which attracts many holidaymakers with the promise of sunny days and warm summer breezes. With temperatures exceeding 30 degrees in summer, the region offers an ideal atmosphere for outdoor activities. From the majestic mountains to the lush Mediterranean, the climate varies, but no matter where you are, you can enjoy the early arrival of spring, when the landscape blooms in a colorful natural splendor. Autumn in Tuscany remains mild and pleasant.

Both Pisa and Florence airports are within easy driving distance of most parts of Tuscany, usually no more than a 45 minute drive from the popular destinations in the region. This makes it easy to reach your holiday home from almost anywhere in the world and also makes it convenient for friends and family to visit you..
